What is Mace?

The aril of nutmeg; sold separately from the nutmeg kernel.

Short answer: Mace (Hindi: जावित्री) is Myristica fragrans (aril). Warm, finer than nutmeg, peppery-sweet. Culinary use only — not a medicine.
