UK and EU import, customs and duty — FAQ for repeat spice buyers

Repeat buyers ask about parcels, VAT and paperwork. Here is the honest version: shipping rules are configurable; duty is not a slogan.

Retail customers

Checkout shipping is shown in GBP or EUR for the storefront, not as an Indian rupee per-kilo leak. Whether VAT or duty is included depends on the shipping rule and the destination. If a parcel is held, the carrier or customs letter is the source of truth — not a blog post.

Wholesale and 10kg+

Commercial invoices, packing lists and food-information files are the usual documents. Some dried spices from India can fall under increased official controls. We do not promise a green lane we have not confirmed for your HS code.

This is not legal advice

Importers should confirm classification and rates with their broker. Read shipping, food information, and wholesale pages, then request a quote for bulk.
